Urban legend ini berasal dari Mexico. Diceritakan ada seorang wanita yang menenggelamkan ketiga anaknya di sungai dan kemudian bunuh diri. Ia melakukan itu karena suaminya meninggalkan mereka untuk menikah dengan wanita lain.
Sejak saat itu, hantu dirinya sering terlihat di seantero Mexico, berulang-ulang mengucapkan "Anakku, anakku, di manakah anakku?"
